New Treatments for More Targeted Self-Care

Stressed skin has been of heightened concern for many clients due to excessive blue light transmission and dehydration. Therefore, Gem Spa’s facial menu focuses on detoxifying, hydrating and revitalizing the skin.  New for this season is the unique 50- or 80-minute Candle Massage during which a delicate massage technique works in harmony with candles made from essential and aromatic oils. This method produces a deep state of relaxation while simultaneously providing emollient properties that leave the skin incredibly soft and hydrated.

Self-Care on Land and by Sea

For those looking to get out on the water for their exercise, the on-site marina offers complimentary use of kayaks, snorkeling equipment and stand up paddleboards (SUP). Guests can enjoy water aerobics in the pool, test their balance with SUP yoga class in the ocean or request a private yoga class on the sundeck. Of course, they can always opt to head indoors and work out in the resort’s newly refurbished state-of-the-art fitness center specially designed to showcase the spectacular views of the ocean while exercising. 

New for this season is the Aloe Vera Class at Gem Spa Café, held on Wednesday and Sunday at 11 a.m. The class begins with a guided stretch and is complemented by guests applying a handcrafted facial exfoliation mixture of coconut or olive oil and a bit of grainy salt. Once the skin is cleansed, a mixture of aloe vera and yogurt is applied to the face. The aloe vera yogurt mixture, which helps to moisturize the skin and heal sunburn, is left on for one minute before being removed. Guests are made aware of the importance of removing the aloe vera product entirely from the skin. If left on, and exposed to the sun, it can stain the skin.
